Ambitions in Life as a Computer Science Student
 

1. What would you like to be 5 yrs from now? (hopes, aspirations, wishes)

I am not quite stable yet as to what I really want to be after years of studying but I hope to succeed at a certain profession that I can be good at. Preferably computer-related since I am a Computer Science graduate.  And if given the chance, one of my greatest ambitions so far is to own a company and be known to countries nationwide. I dream to develop useful software or program that can benefit mankind be it poor or rich.  I aspire things beyond my young mind. Some of these are my desire to provide my family our very own piece of land and of course a fully-furnished house with it. Then, be able to support my siblings in their studies and let my mother stay at home and enjoy life instead of dragging herself to work. It is my way of showing my sincere gratitude for all the sacrifices they’ve pulled off just to put me to where I might be years from now. And after such success, whether it’s financial, emotional and social stableness, since 5 years isn’t yet quite a long time, I want to enjoy being a single woman and be able to travel from places to places and go to extreme adventures and experience unfathomable things. I want to buy exotic stuffs and try various foods from different places. For such experiences will make me feel satisfied and I can surely say that I have really lived my life to the fullest. Whether I achieve these or not, I firmly promise to make something that would be worth my while! It’s not that I want to have a luxurious one, but all I want is to have a contented and peaceful lifestyle and be able to cope up with the changes happening every time. For the future can't be based solely on daydreaming but on how you face and react on present situations in order to have a better future.

2. If you are to develop a program to promote moral values, what program would you do? and why?

Facebook. A widely known social networking site. People online are addicted to it and are always up to date. I guess it beats all other networking sites. And because of its popularity and publicity, many users are abusing some of its use. As we can all observe, facebook now contains several censored images and unpleasant comments. Photos that suggest erotic implications are openly posted and are available to others for viewing. It degrades the morality of the person being involved in such scenery. But why isn’t it prohibited or being taken action with? As a Computer Science student, I strongly suggest a development of a webpage or a web program that contains or suggests the preservation of human morality. Since most facebook users are young people, they should be aware of the things that shouldn’t be dealt with at an early age. This page will contain articles and forums about how to stop and avoid moral degradation. We are Christians above all, so we must act as one and be one. Insights from various concerned citizens can be put into words inside the page and be shared to several people. It mainly advocates or promotes our morality and of course respect to one’s privacy. It will also contain a fight for making facebook a censored-free website.

3. If you are a machine, what would you be and why?

If I were to become a machine, I want it to be a MOBILE PHONE. It has it all and becomes even more indispensable than it is now. Mobile phones have already started functioning as more than just communications devices. Mobile phones serve several usage put into one. Why mobile phone? It’s somewhat because I want to be a very useful and flexible individual for everyone. Just like mobile phones, I want to possess several abilities so I’ll be able to execute various tasks and be of value to anyone. Selfish as it may sound, but I want to be someone who is quite in demand just like how mobile phones are to important for everyone nationwide.
